Unwinding in Tagaytay

Around a month ago, my girlfriend and I went to Tagaytay for some much needed unwinding. Things got pretty much hectic at work and a day off became more of a necessity. When I’m in Tagaytay, I would usually just go to the usual parks, either People’s Park or Picnic Grove. That time, though, we just wanted to relax and well, eat. So that’s what we did.

The Restaurant in Sonya's Garden

First off, we went to Sonya’s Garden. They offered all you can eat pasta, salad and bread, much to my girlfriend’s dismay because she’s a rice person. LOL. The food was great, ambience was amazing and the scenes were a delight. The place was a bit far from  Olivares, the usual drop-off point if you’re going there by commute, but the extra 15 minutes was well worth it.

From there, we took a jeepney ride to Taal Vista Hotel where we stayed a bit to take pictures of the Taal Volcano. This hotel has undoubtedly the best view to Taal. Unfortunately, it was very foggy that day so I had to make do with what image I can compose. A note to the Batangas Government: Please do not erect that Hollywood-ish sign in Taal.

Lastly, before we headed home, we dropped by Leslie’s for dinner. We ordered one of their bestsellers, Bulalo. We also got some other seafood dishes. We were also treated to a couple of songs, courtesy of the in-house quartet. Oh wait, they had new member so there were 5 of them. LOL

So there, there were only 2 things in our checklist: to get away and eat. At the end of the day, that’s exactly what we did. :)
